Linking

The folks at Canoe and Kayak have run a piece on the Ikkatsu Expedition (written by yours truly.) There are a bunch of attached photos, some taken by me, some by Steve Weileman, all of which are downright inspirational, if you ask me.)

I'm inspired, anyway. Let's go.

This blog is intended to serve as a running commentary on the Pacific Northwest and the unique opportunities for discovery that are still available, here in the far western reaches of the continent. The entire area is a haven for backpackers, climbers, canoeists and kayakers - rightly so. This site is for them, but not them alone.

The links provided below take the reader to other sites, records of adventures large and small that have already been documented in other places. Blog updates feature news items, historical notes and current events, as well as the details of ongoing trips in the region. (It is the nature of this medium that entries may wander off the intended path from time to time but wandering, after all, is what the whole thing is about.)

Comments and suggestions are welcome, either here on the site or at info@lastwilderness.net, and as time passes and the site continues to grow, it is hoped that The Last Wilderness can be a valuable resource, not only as a repository of adventures past, but as an inspiration for those still to come.
